Wakefield Bondholders – Promoting Collaboration for Business and Charity
Wakefield Bondholders Newburn Power Rental and Farmer Copley’s, joined forces over the festive season in support of the Prince of Wales Hospice thanks to Bondholders First Friday.
Newburn Power Rental, who were introduced to the team at Farmer Copleys during the December networking event that was held at the newly launched Moo Café and conference facilities, were able to volunteer their support for the farm’s annual festival of lights – a charitable, family friendly walk through 1000’s of festive lights and illuminated Christmas scenes.
Recognising the need for electrical distribution and step down transformers, the nationwide specialist in temporary and emergency power offered their services free of charge, saving valuable funds that the charity would traditionally spend on specialist equipment.
Mark Henstock, from Newburn Power Rental, commented: “As a business owner I find the First Friday events very useful as it encourages the collaboration between local businesses and gives them the opportunity to exchange ideas and explore new ways of working together. In the case of Farmer Copleys, it gave us an introduction to the Prince of Wales Hospice which I am proud to say has resulted in our support of a most worthy cause benefitting local people.”
Heather Copley, from Farmer Copleys, comments: “Being part of Wakefield Bondholders not only allowed us to showcase our new conference facilities at the First Friday event, but it enables us to be a part of a proactive team of businesses raising the profile of the district including Pontefract.
“It also facilitated our introduction to Newburn Power, a like-minded local company who we were able to in effect do business with on the day, albeit on behalf of the Prince of Wales Hospice. Newburn Power will now be our go to generator supplier for our outside events. Wakefield Bondholders can-do, positive attitude is in my opinion one of its strongest attributes and we are looking forward to the group expanding in 2017.”
First Friday is a district-wide networking event hosted by Wakefield Bondholders. Used as a vehicle to promote and support growth within the district, First Fridays offer an economic update whilst also facilitating networking between like-minded business people.
Taking place on the first Friday of every month, First Friday is held at different locations across the Wakefield District.
