Strata Unveils Autism Angels Partnership

Strata has unveiled Autism Angels, a charity that provides unique support to children and their families through working in a natural environment and with the positive influence of horses, as its charity of the year.

Based in Kearby, between Leeds and Harrogate, the charity helps children, alongside their families and teachers, who are facing many personal challenges including autism. It also provides hope and new skills to youngsters who are experiencing stress and trauma in their lives.

Working with the support of its customers, supply chain, family and friends, the Strata team will spend the year hosting charitable events to raise much needed funds.

Already in the pipeline are dress down days, baking events, skydives, kayaking and three peak challenges, as well as the hugely anticipated annual ball that brings together more than 680 guests.

Strata’s Charity and Events Manager, Leonie Weaver, comments: “Autism Angels is a wonderful charity that has a unique and powerful way of helping young people and those closest to them.

“When you meet the team, the volunteers and families involved in Autism Angels you get a clear sense of passion, empathy and pride in the work being delivered and we feel privileged to be a part of this. We are now really looking forward to working hard to raise money for this fantastic charity.”

Sarah Shearman, Founder of Autism Angels, comments: “We simply cannot put into words how grateful we are to have been named Strata’s charity of the year. From seeing the enthusiasm that the Strata family has for making a real difference, we know that this is going to be an exciting year which will have a positive impact on so many families.”

“There really is very little support for autism families or for youngsters experiencing significant challenges, but by working with partners like Strata we can change this. We can rebuild the lives of children and help families to live big, full lives together.”

Since 2015 Strata has raised more than £274,000 for its chosen charities, all thanks to the continued support of team members, suppliers, customers, friends and family.
