Theatre Royal Wakefield announced the full cast of forthcoming festive pantomime Sleeping Beauty this week with a glamorous limousine ride through Wakefield city centre.
Previously announced cast member Nanny Nurture, played by regular Wakefield dame Chris Hannon, will be joined on stage this Christmas by Aurora (Alice Strachan), Prince Petroc (Steffan Lloyd-Evans), Muddles (Thomas Cotran), King Stefan (Neil Smye), Carabosse (Julie Stark) and Fairy Filament (Claire Sundin).
The talented cast join the established team behind previous successful pantomime productions Dick Whittington, Cinderella, Aladdin, Jack and the Beanstalk and Beauty and the Beast for this take on the timeless tale of the power of true love’s kiss.
The cast were whisked on a whistle-stop tour of lead sponsors in a limo provided by local firm Eggleston Limousines, stopping in at Trinity Walk for some early Christmas shopping, a spot of pampering at Room 97 and helping out on the phones at First Choice Recruitment.
Lucy Grice, Marketing Manager at Trinity Walk, said: “Theatre Royal Wakefield’s annual pantomime is now famous across the city and beyond. It’s something that people look forward to and now very much part of a traditional Wakefield Christmas for so many families, which is why we like to support it. And we must be doing something right here as we managed to keep Sleeping Beauty awake while she shopped!”
The cast and creative team will be hard at work throughout November preparing for opening night on Thursday 24 November, with the show running through to Saturday 31 December.
Tickets for Sleeping Beauty are already on sale via the Box Office on 01924 211 311 or online at theatreroyalwakefield.co.uk.
