This month we caught up with Jade Elliot, Marketing Manager at Xscape Yorkshire, to find out what’s in store for the fantastic local leisure and entertainment destination.
Summarise your business in a couple of sentences.
As a leisure and entertainment destination we’re one of Yorkshire’s largest attractions.
Comprising a variety of activities, places to eat and specialist outdoor brands, Xscape appeals to a wide customer base – from young children, teens and families to adults, and attracts visitors from across Yorkshire and beyond.
How long have you worked/ been based in the Wakefield District?
Xscape Yorkshire opened in October 2003 and will celebrate its 15th birthday next year.
Why the Wakefield District?
For the fantastic location and accessibility.
Why have you become a Bondholder?
To enhance and develop our knowledge and communication links within the district.
What’s next for the Wakefield District?
Locally, the continued residential developments which is great for the community along with the proposed stadium development. Within Xscape, we are busy working on refurbishment plans and new business developments to ensure Xscape remains fresh and exciting.
Do you know an interesting fact about the district?
A great example of regeneration is Xscape/Junction 32 and the surrounding areas, following on from the closure of Glasshoughton Colliery, with lots more to come!
