Member Spotlight – Heart Medical
Paul Caffrey at Heart Medical offers an insight into his exciting new business and believe me…it’s a lifesaver!
- Summarise your business in a couple of sentences.
Heart Medical is an Independent Ambulance Service provider which also specialises in Event Medical Cover and Training for your workplace.
- Can you showcase your offering, including an example of a recent project/initiative?
Our Ambulance Service transports patients all over the UK and we recently went as far as Brussels to repatriate a patient back to Yorkshire! Our Event medical staff have been busy at events both throughout Yorkshire and further afield at locations such as Silverstone.
We’re also pleased to announce that Heart Medical is launching its “Training Academy” for 2017, which aims to provide workplace and Pre-hospital level courses, to the Wakefield area and beyond. Within a bespoke state of the art training centre, students can learn the skills to become a confident and effective First Aider; Heart Medical also offers Pre-hospital courses up to and including a Level 5 Diploma in First Response in Emergency and Urgent Care.
Our Pre-hospital courses are designed specifically for clients who wish to get into the ambulance service or gain entry onto the Paramedic Science Degree at University, they are also aimed at Military staff who are leaving post and looking for training which will lead to employment as a civilian. These courses are perfect for companies working in high risk areas and where a risk assessment shows staff require further training than a basic workplace first aid course. Heart Medical is registered with Qualsafe as its awarding body who are regulated by Ofqual.
- How long have you worked/been based in the Wakefield District?
Our company has been in this area since it was registered in January 2016, myself and my business partner have worked in Wakefield for over 6 years.
- Why the Wakefield District?
We chose this area due to the growing business scene, and the support available through organisations such as the Bondholders and Wakefield Council. There is excellent local infrastructure for our business in this area and a central location with good access to the East Cost Main Line and Motorway networks as well as several Airports within 90 minutes, which is key to future growth.
- Why have you become a Bondholder?
We want to be involved in developing the business community in Wakefield as well as growing our network and in turn helping to grow our business.
- What’s next for the Wakefield District?
Growth and establishing long lasting trading both locally, nationally and abroad.
