LSE Lists Britcon In Report On European Inspiration
Wakefield and Lincolnshire based building company Britcon has been listed by the London Stock Exchange in its latest report of ‘1000 Companies to Inspire Europe’.The report released today is the first ever for Europe as an extension to the existing annual study of 1000 Companies to Inspire Britain.
To be included in the list, companies needed to show consistent revenue growth over a minimum of three years and have a significant increase to overall staff numbers.
Jonathan Hill of the European Commission representing Financial Stability, Financial Services and Capital Markets Union, said: “The companies listed are remarkable examples of European hard work and entrepreneurship. They come from all 28 EU countries and from a wide range of business sectors. Taken as a whole they are growing at 71% a year and over the past two years have increased their staff by 66%. This report gives these companies the recognition they deserve.”
Britcon is one of just 98 businesses in the construction and property sector identified in the report across the 28 member countries. Other high performing sectors include food and bererage and manufacturing and engineering.

Established for more than 26 years Britcon provides building, civil engineering and steelwork solutions for the built environment. With offices in Wakefield and Scunthorpe the business directly employs 90 people on its project sites across the UK. In 2014/15 it reported strong business growth by 17% to £31.5 million, a growth which has been consistent in recent years.
