Italian coffee shop, Laura’s at The Art House now open in the heart of Wakefield
The Art House celebrates the opening of Laura’s, a brand new Italian coffee shop serving freshly prepared pastries and bakes.
Laura Giordano, an artisan baker originally hailing from Naples, always dreamt of living in the UK. She decided to take the plunge and move to Yorkshire three years ago and, after driving back to Italy to collect her two beloved dogs, she settled in Wakefield and set up her dream business, Laura’s Italian Bakery.
“I’ve always loved cooking and baking, so I’m excited to have the opportunity to bring the authentic Italian flavours that people will know from my bakery business to Laura’s at The Art House” says Laura.
The Art House have teamed up with Laura to open a warm and dog-friendly coffee shop in their foyer. The coffee shop sits alongside their gallery, print workshop and artist studio complex on Drury Lane, just around the corner from Wakefield Westgate Train Station.
Authentic Italian coffee, freshly baked cupcakes, croissants, focaccia and cannoli are now available to eat in or take away. A vegetarian herself, all of Laura’s home-made bakes are deliciously meat free, with a selection of gluten free and vegan options also available.
Sydney Thornbury, CEO/Artistic Director of The Art House said “We’re so excited to be working with Laura. It’s a great opportunity to support a local independent business and have a regular supply of excellent coffee!”
