Classic and American Car Show Returns to City Centre

For the first time in over 14 years the Classic and American Car Show, which is one of the county’s largest car shows, will return to Wakefield City Centre on Sunday 30th April 2017.

Previously taking place at Silcoates School, the renowned event has been forced to re-locate due to its popularity – and with a larger venue, this year’s event promises to be bigger and better than ever!

With many car clubs in attendance there will be something for everyone, with cars ranging from 1930’s models right through to those from the modern age including a Shelby Mustang GT500, AKA ‘Eleanor’, and a ‘Captain American’ and his custom motorbike.

For the comic-con lovers out there, various characters, including Star Wars and ‘The Stig’, will also be making an appearance.

Phil Pickard, Director of West Riding Recruitment, official sponsors of the event alongside a variety of local businesses, comments: “This event is a great opportunity for the Wakefield District. Not only will it raise funds for two fantastic charities – Yorkshire Air Ambulance and The Alzheimer’s Society, but it will also drive visitors into the city centre, increasing footfall for local business. It’s certainly a great addition to the districts events calendar.”
