Carmel Harrison is set to judge IET Innovation Awards for a second year
The Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET) has turned to Carmel Harrison for the second year running to judge its annual Innovation Awards and Carmel is now calling for manufacturers to submit their entries.
Carmel will be judging the Manufacturing Technology award category alongside her long-standing customer Margaret Wood MBE, chair of ICW (UK) Ltd., who will be chairing the Manufacturing Technology judging panel.
Carmel will also be joined by judges Anne Wilson of Numill Engineering in Sheffield, Peter Haythorne of ICW (UK) Ltd, Steve Wainwright a consulting engineer, Ted Wiggins of Xaar and David Bott.
The IET’s distinctive annual Innovation Awards celebrate year on year the very best in innovation across science, engineering and technology, showcasing entries from around the world and, thanks to Carmel’s experience working with local high-quality manufacturers, she is set to join the judging panel once again.
The judges will be looking for new products or services that represent a genuine innovation which is commercially, socially or personally viable and can benefit their sector.
Carmel Harrison, Executive Director of Carmel Harrison PR said: “With 14 categories to choose from there is something for every corner of industry to get involved with and simply entering your ideas can raise your business profile huge amounts.
“I’m delighted The IET Awards have turned to me again to judge the Manufacturing Technology Award but now it’s time to show them what our Yorkshire manufacturers have to offer. Entry offers organisations a fantastic opportunity to showcase their talent, expertise and investment in people, technology and the future.”
Previous winners have developed auto navigation systems for visually impaired people, laser verification of complex pre-cast concrete products and the world’s first 3d printer of silicon.
