Britcon Wins CCIHWY Committed To Innovation Award 2016
On Friday, 22 April, Britcon won Committed to Innovation Award of the Year for the Biowise state of the art Recycling and Waste Management Composting Facility at the 2016 COOB’s CCIHWY Awards.
Britcon received this award for the £2.6m (Ph1) Contract to deliver a state‐of‐the‐art Recycling and Waste Management Composting Facility for Client Biowise Limited.
Britcon delivered this prestigious Contract on a ‘Turnkey’ basis, backed by an enviable portfolio of delivering complex renewable energy facilities for a number of blue‐chip organisations throughout the United Kingdom.
The complexity of the composting process is subject to stringent monitoring and testing to ensure compliance with industry standards. This assures the end user that the compost is produced to the highest safety, reliability and quality standards.
The entire project was delivered within a thirty‐seven week programme in a challenging work environment, on time and to budget, achieving ‘zero accident’ statistics throughout.
Britcons Managing Director, Paul Clarkson said of the win “It is a great honour to receive this award and see the recognition of the hard work and innovative development that we put together; bringing forward this project and it’s recognition by our industry peers. CIOB are a hugely respected organisation and the CCIHWY is an industry recognised commitment; we are delighted to have our association with them through this Award win. This is a great achievement for all involved and I look forward to Britcon and its continued lead through Innovation with all our projects now and in the future.”
Judges comments and reasons for choosing this project “The judges were impressed with the submission demonstrating a truly innovative approach, throughout the delivery and the relationships formed through this project.”
James Landau, Managing Director at Biowise said “We chose to work with Britcon on the strength of the Company’s credentials on similar projects. The fact that we could rely upon a ‘single contractor’ to deliver all of the complex building elements which house the processing equipment, was reassuring.
Britcon really did work in partnership with us to deliver value engineering and we are delighted with the handover.”
